Training/Consultancy Offered

As a social worker and an educator for over 30 years, plus a birth mother and an adoptive mother of five adult adoptees from four countries, Janette is able to provide a unique perspective on children at risk and to offer individuals, churches, non government organisations, and governments a wide range of services.

Using knowledge and practical experience gained in training in 11 countries, she delivers interactive training within a Christian framework. She endeavours to design and deliver training that is relevant to unique circumstances, and has the ability to apply complex processes, theories and systems and to contextualize them for the field.

Her training is competency based and culturally sensitive.

While her main aim is to share knowledge about children at risk, with administrators, pastors, Sunday School teachers, educators, foster and adoptive parents, social workers, residential workers and volunteers, she also encourages and motivates them to continuing to work with one of the most vulnerable group in the world.

Her highly developed training uses a variety of interactive methods including:

  • Lectures with Power Point Presentations.
  • Large and Small Group Work.
  • Role Plays.
  • Case Studies.
  • Creative Art.
  • Personal Reflections.

Janette can also provide staff supervision, consultancy on specific issues (eg. child behaviour, discipline, attachment) and on specific projects (eg. establishing a foster care program).

She is also available to speak at church services, youth and ladies groups and as a Key Note or Plenary conference speaker on a specific topic.
